Gee Gang, Lets Start A Gang!

Robert Yager's Gang Banger Photo Series

Death by Party | Robert Yager’s Gang Banger Photo Series

Everybody has a crew, even boring people. Lame dinner parties are the suburban gangs of boring married couples who’ve found complacency in their life. Old people seem to clique in nursing homes, kids in the schoolyard, and the mentally unstable in institutions. The world is nothing more than a myriad of gangs. When I glance at this collection by Robert Yager I can’t help but think about my own collection of gangs.

I’m a gang kind of a guy. I also like to wander. Often you can find me settling into two different scenes in my social hours, the urban scene and the coastal scene. The Urbanites like to stroll aimlessly around crowded city streets looking for redemption towards a fast-moving day. Lots of times their buffonery holds up cars stopped at traffic lights, when they’re out and about they’re the ones directing traffic. As long as there’s a woman involved they’re on top of it. The Coastals, on the other hand, relish in the sun no matter how frigid it may be outside. The moon is nothing more than a constant reminder that the sun is on its way. As long as there’s an ocean, they’re on it. And as long as I migrate from urban landscape to coast, I’m in it to convince myself there’s some fortune or pride out there worth winning.

It’s unfortunate most of the gangs from this photo series think so differently. If I had to pinpoint a cause for their case I’d have to say it’s something in the food they’re eating. Bodega food takes its toll. However I’m sure the members within these gangs are more loyal to one another than any other social gathering in existence. They truly ride and die together. Take a look at this photo album and see for yourself what it truly means to be immersed in gang life.
