My dearest Cyriak,
I love you and all, but seriously… what the fuck?
I am a big fan of your work, but, at the same time, your work also completely terrifies me. I like teddy bears, I really do. But when I’m confronted with an endless teddy bear, a never ending spiral of fluffy ears turning into faces, or multitudes of teddy bears smashing seagulls into driving cars, my brain feels like it’s on the verge of one big glitch.
I’ve seen people use Photoshop, After Effects, and Fruity Loops before, but your work is different… it haunts people. The first time I saw your “Meow Mix” on Adult Swim, I sat there for several minutes afterwards trying to shake the images and the incessant meowing out of my head. Our own Dr. Santiago Preta used your adorable yet predictably creepy kitten zombie “MEOW” video a while back to really drive home… whatever point he was trying to make back there. Something about the kitten zombie apocalypse. That wasn’t as bad as, say, a UFO abducting a cow, then cutting it up and playing playing its innards like a banjo. Come on. What the fuck.
Anyways, keep doin’ what you’re doin’. Because I love having nightmares about spider santas and six-headed sheep-maggots and hamsters being used as tennis balls. …seriously. (Don’t believe me? Check out the rest on his official site.) What the fuck, Cyriak?
